Monster in the Mansion Characters: Playable Survivors & Roles
Every playable survivor in Monster in the Mansion — Stealth Specialist, Support, Scout, Medic, Engineer, and risky Loudmouths — and which role fits your co-op squad.
Monster in the Mansion Characters
Monster in the Mansion does not have classes in the traditional sense — but each playable survivor has a distinct role defined by how quietly they move, how fast they finish objectives, and how they help the squad. Picking the right mix is the foundation of a surviving team. (For the ranked version, see the Best Characters tier list.)
Stealth Specialist
- Role: anchor and bait.
- Strength: lowest footstep noise; the monster rarely hears them.
- Best for: pulling the hunt away from objectives so the squad works safely.
- Weakness: not fast at objectives; relies on others to finish.
Support
- Role: coordination.
- Strength: pings the monster for the whole team and shares vision perks.
- Best for: keeping a squad alive through communication.
- Weakness: only as safe as the team's positioning.
Scout
- Role: tempo.
- Strength: reaches objectives and scouts routes quickly.
- Best for: efficient squads that already have a quiet anchor.
- Weakness: a bit louder than Stealth; gets caught if over-extended.
Medic
- Role: saves.
- Strength: revives downed teammates.
- Best for: longer, harder rounds where wipes are likely.
- Weakness: needs a clear area to revive; slightly loud.
Engineer / Locksmith
- Role: objectives.
- Strength: opens locked routes and handles props faster.
- Best for: rounds where objectives are the bottleneck.
- Weakness: not stealthy; needs the squad to cover noise.
Loudmouth / Reckless
- Role: chaos (fun, risky).
- Strength: aggressive, entertaining play.
- Weakness: high noise draws the monster constantly.
- Best for: experienced squads that can fully cover for them.
Building a Balanced Squad
A survivable co-op squad usually looks like:
- 1 Stealth Specialist to stay quiet
- 1 Support to coordinate
- 1 Scout or Medic for tempo or saves
- Flex picks to fill gaps
Avoid stacking loud characters — you will spend the round being hunted.
